I was quite giddy when I received it and thought it was the best thing ever.. I was impressed with the first few shots I took of the fruit bowl on the kitchen table. I at first was thinking ok how am I going to shoot this off... I thought at first using radio poppers but I use pulsars (made by Bowers) and it would mean having to have the camera farther back from the ring.. that didn't make any sense. So I remember I had an old Coiled Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord for Nikon Speed-lights. ( I am shooting a Nikon D200) I quickly attached that to my flash and it worked out fine. I was able to get the camera full into the "Ring" just using my Tamron 2.8 17 to 50MM lens. I did have an issue with the rubberbands.. for some reason they kept slipping off my SB800, nonetheless I was able to kept it on there for sometime, I plan looking at alternatives with velcro straps. I plan on attaching the plate from a tripod under camera to actually hold it to a tripod... All I have to do is shoot a person. I will post any images I can when I get this done.Photography By Joehttp://www.photographybyjoe.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6619753640918133495.post-91379435227331790082011-05-25T23:29:18.364-07:002011-05-25T23:29:18.364-07:00Thanks for the review, especially the note about t...Thanks for the review, especially the note about the -2 stops and not being able to mount to the hotshoe. I wonder if Camera Flash Bracket could be used (moves the flash up above higher from hotshoe) + sync cord to get ETTL and have the ring over the lens? I was so upset they never showed any photos of this "in action" and only later with some guy holding it separately below the camera. That's a bummer... I don't understand why they couldn't design it in the first place to work from the hotshoe like all others. =(<br /><br />Still cheap, good looking, and seemingly effective though!photodeluxhttp://photodelux.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6619753640918133495.post-58193128243300080902011-05-22T10:39:44.773-07:002011-05-22T10:39:44.773-07:00That's really cool.
